About Taupecat Studios

We give your website the care it needs.

Your website should work for you. It should be easy to update content. It should be quick to load. It should look as good on a phone as it does on a desktop. And it should be accessible to users of all abilities. Are all of your plugins up-to-date? Is it secure? Is it even up? If you’re uncertain about the answers to any of these questions, we can help. From day-to-day maintenance to building a whole new web presence from the ground up, Taupecat Studios can be the partner you need to keep your website working for you.

Taupecat Studios was founded in 2016 by Tracy Rotton. For over 25 years, Tracy has been working with clients to produce stunning and cutting-edge websites with a focus on performance, accessibility, and versatility.

Tracy started working with WordPress in 2010 and is a core member of the Washington, D.C. WordPress community. She is a WordPress core contributor and contributor to the Underscores starter theme project. As one of the co-organizers of the WordPress D.C. meetup group, she helped organize D.C.’s first-ever WordCamp in 2017 and has spoken on WordPress and front-end development topics at WordCamps and other web technology conferences around the country.

Prior to starting Taupecat Studios, Tracy was the Front-End Architect at RP3 Agency in Bethesda and has also worked for Discovery Communications and Marriott International as an in-house web developer. In addition to her development work and speaking engagements, she has taught WordPress development at General Assembly. Awards her work has won include W3, Webby Awards Honoree, American Advertising Federation D.C., and DotComm.
