Taupecat Studios is currently seeking an experienced WordPress developer in a contract role.
Required
The following skills are absolutely required:
- Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- 5+ years experience in custom WordPress development
- Full-stack: PHP, JavaScript, CSS/Sass, HTML
- Ability to build a custom theme from visual comps without the use of a front-end framework
- Photoshop & Adobe Creative Suite
- Responsive development
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Write clear, well-documented code that passes linting checks (we use PHP CodeSniffer, Sass Lint, and JSHint)
Desired
Additionally, it would be awesome if you already knew your way around:
- Building custom themes with Underscores
- Writing custom WordPress plugins
- GitHub
- Gulp (or comparable front-end build system)
- NPM
- Composer
- Pantheon workflow
- Jira and/or Trello
This is a contract (1099-MISC) position. We are 100% remote, and use Slack, Zoom, and Google Hangouts for team communications. You would be reporting to Taupecat Studios’ principal and chief developer. We are located in the Eastern time zone, but we will accept any qualified candidate located anywhere within the United States.
